The weather service issues red flag warnings when the wind is particularly strong. That means you're not supposed to start a fire when there is a red flag warning . Obviously this system didn't work as well as it should have.
It's hard to believe that 3 days before the fire started there was snow on the ground; and that Wednesday evening there was snow on the ground again.
The fire fighters were fantastic. Many thanks to you all.
